Approved! But Thinking Of Jumping Md Ship :-/

Recommended Posts

So, I had my surgery consult in April and my MD quotes an average 45 day wait from consult to surgery date.....13 weeks later....Im still circling the runway. I called my Dr. office and Im transferred to a coordinator who never picks up the phone and rarely returns calls. They were all so nice in the beginning, but the only time I scored a callback.....when I suggested the Dr. refer me to another Dr. who could fit me into their surgery sched.

I called another Dr to see about moving up my timeline.....I would have to see him of course, then resubmit to my insurance but his office staff assures me they can get me seen and schedualed within two weeks. Aguh!!! Am I being unreasonable? Is this the normal wait time? I just feel so frustrated.

Have you reseached the new doctor? Which one is more experienced? This should be the most important question. Good luck.

I think if new doctor has enough experience, I would jump ship and go with him. Thirteen weeks seems like a long time to wait. If they are already all set with insurance and everything else, why couldn't they put you on the schedule, even if it was 45 days later?

Just when you're ready to dive off the deep end.......You're given a Date....and of course, you take it. Thank you, for your comments.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
