How Do I Know When I Am Full?

Recommended Posts

So how much should I be drinking at one time? When I drink or suck Jello, I get very bad cramps. I just got out of the hospital yesterday and it was worst in the hospital. The cramping is lower abdomen not upper, it only happens when I take in something by mouth. Any suggestions anyone?

Hi! I just got out of hospital yesterday, I was sleeved on Tuesday...I was having issues myself, same as you, I found that when i had anything cold, that cramped me up, and had extreme pain right under my breasts! I found that sipping on room temperature water/diet snapple/apple juice and Unjury chicken broth, settled real nice...i wanted Ice Water a few minutes ago, took 2 sips, and Wham! my sleeve didn't like it at all! But I am sooo thirsty and I'm dying for a sip of Coffee!! Hope you feel better, try room temp drinks for today, see how that works for ya!

I had my surgery on Wednesday and I get bad cramping/gas pains also. I'm hoping its normal and will get better, I noticed it gets better when I walk but it's so sore where the drain is, it's not to comfortable walking to much. I've only had tea and Water and just a little at a time. From what I read by day 4 or 5 it should get better. Hope so!!!

I haven't had any gas but cramping was bad, I don't have a drain....today I'm feeling pretty good, just a little weak...good luck, lets all try to stay on each other! (that sounded a little perverted didn't it?) :o lets all keep intouch!

How much Water are have you gotten in today and are you on a clear liquid or full liquid diet. I am on a liquid diet and I have drank 24 ounces, some Jello and a popsicle today so far. Still cramping though and was nauseated about an hour ago.

I was sleeved Tuesday and home from hospital Wednesday. My nausea has finally subsided. I'm living on Water Gatorade and Jello. As a treat I'll have an Italian ice. I'm having a hard time getting my fluids in as well but am feeling pretty good. I tell ya what, I definitely feel like I want something other than clear liquids!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
