I there I'm a little concerned about my weight lost I was sleeved on 4/9/12 I was 246 and now 214 so 29 down It's been 3 months and my huge problem is my snacking because many foods just won't go down. I know it's crazy but veggies and eggs are not my friends anymore they hurt. But if I eat ice cream or crunchy foods they slide down amazingly. What a problem I know I shouldn't. I'm getting frustrated here and I thought when I got this done food wasn't going to be an issue or I wouldn't at least have to be thinking about food during the whole day like many of you say. Can anyone guide me please

You're losing more than 2 pounds a week. I would say that is pretty good.

What are you trying to eat? eggs, which worked for me pre-op, weren't my friend, either until about 6 months out. I can't say I eat many raw veggies at all anymore, except for lettuce, onions and carrots, if they are shredded. My veggies are steamed, which I enjoy.

So, surely you did not expect to eat ice cream and have great weight loss, so you know you have to cut that out of your mealplan. At 3 months out, I was eating soups(anything and everything), tuna salad, deli turkey, cheese ... things like that. Lean, high Proteins. No ... it wasn't a party and I wasn't *loving* my diet, but it was what my body could tolerate at the time and nutritious. It was what my body needed. Of course I had cravings, but at three months out, I was determined not to sabotage my efforts. I knew that I would not have to do this forever and that is true.

Just try to be as compliant to the rules as possible for 6 months. Do that and you will be so close to goal the excitement of it all will drive you the rest of the way. It will work, but only if you work it.

Cheat, and, well ... you're results may vary.

Hehehe! That's okay. Exercise is a constant battle for me as well. There are days when I get into a zone where I'm like an exercise machine and other days .... not so much! lol. You'll get there. Overall, I think your doing just fine :) .

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
