Starting To Hate Food

Recommended Posts

I'm Nneko & I'm starting to get very depressed. food & I just don't get along at all anymore. I'm 5 weeks out & I'm just having the worst time. The only thing I love are sugar free Popsicles & I may eat a couple of teaspoons of Wendy's chilli. Lost 40 pounds from the very beginning. I was sleeved on May 24th but from the beginning of may that's how much I've lost can someone weigh in or offer a few suggestions please??

Drink your Protein shakes to get at least 60g of Protein per day and dont worry about not wanting food. You will feel like eating again.I personally wish I could hate food a lot more.

Dont be depressed.Do you miss food?Do you want to eat,is this what is making you depressed? then you will just have to start having a little bit for each meal. (I've seen some people eat 1oz of protein and one tbs of whatever)

Good luck and enjoy the weightloss. You will get to your goal faster than us that can eat anything and battle head hunger all the time.

Thank you Desertmom for your words, I really appreciate that. I will try all I can to get the Protein down with the liquids. I figured in this stage it would be fun with the different foods but that doesn't work. Thank you again & continued success on your journey.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
