Need alittle help. I am 2 months post op from band to sleeve. 50 lbs down so far!!!!! But every now and then after eating, I have this extreme sweating episode like a hot flash or something. Profusely sweating all over. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?? And perhaps may know why it happens.

Whale tail as I understand it with the sleeve we are not supposed to get "dumping" effects. However it seems some do have this reaction t times. Are you eating carbs and is it when you eat specific foods? For me, that is an indicator of too much food. So I would say, take 1 less bite and see if that helps, then note if it with specific foods.

Take care

I get this if I eat too much too fast. I am also very uncomfortable in the center of my chest just under my breasts.

Yes! I get it when I have had too many carbs - oddly enough there isn;t a way to gauge this, so I stick to "protien first".

Also I think combo foods can trigger it too - I am lessl ikely to have it if I have a smooth Soup, or a protien/fat combo or veggies...but have, say buffalo and parmesian cheese and edamame...nope! not allowed, lol.

The one less bite cannot be more highly stressed...it is also another reason to avoind drinking wiht meals...when yo uonly have 2,3,4,5 oz. of tummy, it can be easy for that last moderate bite to be too much...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
