As my friend would say, "Holy CRAP, Batman!" That's amazing progress and it's great to hear you so happy with the band. Good luck with the running!

I hope your wife's surgery goes well, AND that she is not expecting the same incredible results. It would be a shame if she felt that anything less than 20+ lbs a month was a letdown.

I follow Dr. Grossbard's direction and the weight comes off easy. no soda of any kind, no bread or bread products, no Water before, during or after meals at least 30 mins. chew, chew, chew.... I eat all the normal food just a lot less....just started running.. my job I walk 2-3 miles aday, so that helps....

been heavy my whole life and look forward to have a bmi under 30.....

start this venture at 340lbs on the way down to 230-240 would make me very happy. had no clue the weight would come off that fast. I was looking to lose 100lbs in a year.

stick to it, hope for the best. as my doc states " You did not put it on over night so why would you expect to loss it over night?"

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
