I Know How Hard It Is To Have Weight Loss Surgery

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I know how difficult it is to have weight loss surgery. We have tried so many diets and failed or lost the weight to only gain it back again and again. I was reading an article a few days ago on ObesityHelp.com and they said over 800 people die every day because of obesity.

Come on love yourself enough to know that having WLS is YOUR answer to becoming healthy and making a life style change that is going to save your own life. I am living proof that it works. I highly recommend having the sleeve--I lost 105 pounds. I love my doctor who is Dr. Aceves and he was the best for me. When picking a doctor take your time to check him out ask people 100's of questions about their experience. I have nothing but good things to say about my doctor and his staff and his hospital where I did my recovery. You want the very best you can for yourself.

Don't give one more day of your life away being fat and putting yourself at risk to die. You are worth the effort and work it takes to become healthy and thin and be able to stay that way for the rest of your life. I had surgery in 2008 and have maintained my 105 pound weight loss. Don't be one of the 800 people who are going to die today because of obesity.

Hugs, and take care of you FIRST!

Suzanne

Hi,

Boy you are so right about that. It took me a lot of years to learn that I deserved and had the right to take care of me FIRST! I have earned that right. Now I am very proud of what I have accomplished. You will too!

Hug,

Suzanne

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
