How Many Had Staples Post Op

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I'm having my staples out tomorrow. I just wondered how many of you had staples and how long you had them before they took them out? I have one incision that is so sore. I'm not looking forward to it. I've had them before when I had my C-section and had lots of staples... but still... I don't like it.

I have staples closing my stomach incision. They are all different colors:-) But I assume you are talking about exterior staples. My husband had them closing the incision for his back surgery, and removing them wasn't painful, he said. I had glue myself because I'm allergic to the tape.

I had staples and dissolvable stitches in all 6 of my incisions. 18 staples total and I had them taken out after 2 weeks. It was a little uncomfortable having them removed but it was a great relief because they were getting very itchy.

I had staples (28 total ... lap band to sleeve revision). I was at my one-week post op appointment today and they removed them today. I now have steri strips (I think that's what they're called) on six of my eight wounds. The other two were healed enough that she didn't think they needed anything else.

The removal was no biggie. It went really quickly. You feel a bit of a tug when they come out, but I didn't think it hurt, really. Of course, I also took my pain meds before this appointment because I knew they were coming out. lol.

I'm so happy to have them out. It feels much better now.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
