Please advised: I'll be 10 weeks on Tuesday. On Wed of last week I ate some chips and threw them up. I know...I shouldn't have allowed my stress levels get to me that way and I feel terribly guilty. It was out of habit and just felt so natural that i wasn't really aware of what i was doing until my stomach started to rebel. My issue though is that I have not been able to eat without some pain or awkward sensations. I feel swollen, like I'm really restricted. Swelling is one thing and I know it'll take some time for it to go away but should I be worried? I mean, if I tore something or had an abscess or stricture I would have offer symptoms...right?

You may want to talk to your doctor, but my stomach became inflamed again about 3 weeks out and - dont become too concerned - it took me weeks longer to change to solids and I had begun some very modest solids and had to regress.

Get back to very basics.

Now, may I ask why you even have those types of foods in your home anymore?

tisk, tisk, tisk

Good luck sweetie.

Thanks for responding. I may just call the doc on Tuesday. I was hoping it was just swelling. I don't buy stuff like that any more. My mother was visiting and had went to subway and got a sandwich and chips. I had a terrible day at work and was reliving me day as I was explaining it to her. I was so mad that I was eating and fussing all at the same time. It felt so natural b/c I've been so accustomed to eating to deal with stress in my past. I definitely learned my lesson. Just hope it didnt damage my sleeve.

Maybe you just ate too fast. I am not sleeved yet but I thought we had to eat all of our food really slow. Maybe you were chatting and eating so you were going to fast. I don't think one episode would damage your sleeve. I have heard tons of stories about people getting sick post sleeve from eating too fast or to much. I hope all is ok. I am not sure what I am going to do about stress eating. I find myself reaching for food at work and home when stressed. I am going to have to watch that as well.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
