Sleeved on Monday so I'm only 5 days out. Wondering how much liquid is too fast...and why. My dr said no more than 2 oz in a 10-15 min period. I seem to be able to tolerate more...and my sleeve has no problem. Just wondering if it's an issue to get like a cup down in 20-30 mins if it's not making me feel crappy. Advice?

I was able to drink a lot from day 2 on. I never felt uncomfortable with liquids and was actually concerned about the amount I was able to drink and how fast. My doctor didn't put any restrictions on how much to drink at one time. I was just told not to gulp. If you are able to drink a good amount then you are lucky! Have you seen the posts of people who can't even sip without feeling sick and full? Listen to your doctor ... But happy drinking!

The Bariatric Coordinator at the hospital told me that as long as I wasn't getting nauseous, then I wasn't drinking too fast. He didn't say how much at once though. I usually keep a water bottle full & take sips every few minutes throughout the day. I eat a cup of broth or Soup in about 30 minutes usually. The first day home it took me 90 minutes for a cup of broth, but now it's only about 30 minutes. As long as you feel okay, I think it's fine. Just don't push it.

I believe one of the reasons to drink slowly and smaller amounts is to learn to know when you feel full. You don't want to fill up on Water and not get the proper amounts of nutrition.

I can do a cup in 15-20 minutes, I can do 3-4 ounces of chicken in a hour. My doc told me yesterday that you won't allways feel pain when drinking or eating to much so it is important to pace your self just cause there is no pain doesn't mean all is great I find out when I had to much when I run to the bathroom so I slowed down big time. And it is better

I am like you. I seemingly can drink all the Water I want, but a couple big gulps of milk and I definitely felt the restriction.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
