Hi,

I am new on this forum, I have set my day for June 25 with Dr. Garcia in Tj. I have done a lot of reasearch and I know Im making the right decision. I have also research here in (ca) and is to expense if you dont have the proper insurance to cover this procidure. Beacause i leave here in cali i was able to meet with Dr. Garcia and had the opportunity to ask several questions.

Now I know I will like to ask those on this forum who has gone with Dr Garcia... what was their experience with him???

But my doubts are about the (alighterme) Has any one has gone thru them? Please let me know.....

When i met with dr. Garcia he explain the diet that i have to follow for aleast 2 weeks. and he mention (atkins) which i have done on the past.... But when I ask Sandy from alighterme the only respond i got was that her manager was going to send me all documents. I also ask about all the test they do beroe the surgery and i see nothing about this... When are the test done?

On the doc that i got they are self explanitory about the producer payments and waivers.

buty my question are not being answer!

For the diet I only see 1 protain drink at Breakfast

one at lunch

dinner: salad with Protein (chkn, fish, or egg)

Can does who have done the surgery with dr. Garcia in Tj. were they given the same diet?

Can any one reconmend some one else besdie alighterme?

Help...

Hi there. I'm having surgery on the same day. I too have been reading lots of information and thoroughly read the information packet they sent. I saw somewhere on this forum that they take you in the morni h of your surgery for your pre-op labs and EKG.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
