I'm still doing my research and everyone says "think twice, cut once.". So I'm considering the DS thinking that long term, it might be best for keeping the weight off.

Did any of you sleevers consider the DS? Why did you choose the sleeve? It certainly is easier to find a surgeon that does the sleeve.

I did tons of research before surgery, but decided against DS for the same reasons I decided against gastric bypass: malabsorption. Both DS and GB require that you monitor your Vitamin levels super closely for life, even more closely that we should do with our sleeves. The other issue for me was dumping syndrome. I had IBS pre-op and wanted to avoid making that worse if possible. I've been lucky that I haven't had any episodes of that since surgery, so I made the right choice for me.

I chose the sleeve for many of the same reasons as Lissa. Also, if you ever need to get a scope to see your stomach, it can no longer be done. They cannot access your stomach if necessary, they can only get as far as the pouch.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
