What Are The Best Pooch Reducing Exercises?

Recommended Posts

Men might not know what a pooch is or assume I'm referring to the 4 legged kind, but for women, many of you not only know but have also hated your lower abs as much as I hate mine! Now that the weight is starting to come off, I need to make sure that this is one area that goes bye bye ASAP! Between the pooch, arm flab and multiple chins, I've got a lot of work to do! Any exercise suggestions that target the pooch? All ideas are welcomed and appreciated =)

Hey, are we twins or what? Those are my problem areas too! I really love callanetics (not a misspelling), and find the abs exercises terrific - not so intense that I can't do them (a major problem with a lot of abs exercises since my core is so weak) but I definitely do feel the workout. For me, the progress isn't as fast as with some other body parts, but that's no surprise because those were the parts that always responded to any exercise faster, while my pooch is ... I'm sure you know what I mean. But it does work, at least for me.

I love my AbCirclePro for the waist. It is easy and it works. I do 150 reps a day. 50 in the morning, 50 in the afternoon, and 50 before bed. I also like my pilates reformer for a total body workout. My waist is now a size 28, and I have gone from a 2X to a XS. No hanging skin anywhere except a bit on my thighs -- and I am 62. I exercised religiously for 1-1/2 hours per day from four months post surgery. 1/2 hour aerobics, 1/2 hour on pilates or bowflex, and 1/2 hour floor exercises and AbCirclePro. In addition, I dance 1-1/2 hours four nights a week.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
