Wow, A lot of women in here. Guess that shouldn't surprise me but it does surprise me that there is not more men too.

Anyways I am thinking about it I live in Europe but my wife is from the Philippines so there is an opportunity to get it done cheaper in Asia.

I will scour the forums late for anyone who had theirs done in the Philippines.

3 Things that I am afraid of...POST OP

Feeling sick and vomiting afterwards,( I really hate being sick.)

Energy levels afterwards, the main reason i eat food now is to feel good! will i feel like crap?

Not being able to satisfy cravings (for me thats as good if not better than sex, i LOVE food!)

Greetings from Ireland....

Hi there from arizona

I personally never felt sick after surgery, but I did have a shot and a patch placed behind my ear for nausea before surgery.I hate being sick also!

I think my energy levels stayed the same,

never really have had any cravings after surgery, except for about a month out,I wanted pizza, so I made one using a whole grain tortilla, pizza sause and mozzerella cheese and then baked it in the oven till the cheese melted,it was pretty good.

Dont we all love food, thats kinda the problem!

Greetings from Ireland....

Welcome! It's always good to see someone new here!

As for your fears, let me address each one.

I'm 8.5 months post-op and I've been "sick" exactly once. I drank too quickly after eating bread and Pasta during an evening out with friends. It wasn't like I'd experienced pre-op, more like a quick push up out of my stomach and it was over.

My energy level after surgery was incredibly high and shows no signs of slacking. I've been up and moving and feeling pretty much incredible since day one, okay, since day three! I started walking immediately and adding in treadmill, bike, and weights as soon as I was cleared for any and all of the above by my surgeon.

As for food, once past the liquid diet, I've been able to eat anything I wanted to eat. I don't do much bread or Pasta post-op, but those are my only real limitations. I loved bread pre-op and used to bake bread several times a week. Now, bread doesn't hold much appeal to me. It's not a Protein source, so I just don't bother most of the time.

Good luck with your journey! Unfortunately, I don't know of anyone who was sleeved in the Phillipines, but I'm sure there are some here. :)

Lissa - I LOVE reading your posts. You always have such good insight and always help make me feel comfortable with my decision to do this! Big huggies to you!

Didn't mean to hi-jack the thread! Lol welcome. You will find this a great place to calm your fears and such a huge support! I would also add that your mind has to be in the right place for this surgery. You STILL have to work at it and get ahold of those reasons you eat. This surgery is the best tool the medical profession can provide you to reach your goals. However if you don't put the effort into it - you won't get out of it what you ate looking for.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
