What Is With Jeans These Days? Lol

Recommended Posts

I'm getting frustrated with finding jeans that fit. It's funny because I used to have the same problem. It was so hard to find jeans that would fit my big booty! So I would buy the same pair from the same place year after year. Now that I'm smaller I'm shopping and the jeans usually fit my thighs, butt and hips. However, at the top of my hips/waist line the jeans flare out?? My teenage daughters say they are for "muffin tops"...we called them love handles. Yeah, sure I'm happy that I don't have love handles to fill that flared waist but I just don't get it. Is there a certain style I should be looking for? Perhaps "hip huggers" or something. I was anti-shopping for so long that I'm truly out of the fashion loop. Anyone have suggestions? By the way, I've tried belts but they are uncomfortable and just gather the waist, look silly. Thanks for your help!

I love low rise jeans, but I have a lower waist too. I find that the low rise don't cut me in two and just look better.

There was a whole thread about this very topic under general discussion. Search jeans for small waist big thighs....its on page 2 under general discussion. Hope this helps!!

Try Not Your Daughter's Jeans. My cousin gave me a pair of these and they go up quite a bit higher than I'm used to but I'm used to the hip-hugger shape. I don't like things around my belly button or higher than it. Used to drive my mom nuts - all my clothes hung around my hips and were (according to her) a size too big!

You need to go to a store like Kohls or Sears they have every kind of Levi's under the sun. They have a label called Curve ID, for every shape and size, you can even go online and they go through all the different types. I love them. Happy Jean shopping. Jeans are a very important piece I clothing you wanna get it right.

I like old navy's new jeans. I wear the "flirt" as i am more straight in the waist and hips but you sound like a "sweetheart".

Ditto on the Old Navy jeans. They have different styles to fit all shapes.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
