So Is This The 3Rd Week Stall?

Recommended Posts

I'm on day 19 post-op, and I've been steadily losing about a pound a day. But recently, when I went to input my weight on my weight tracker online, I realized I'm only down 16lbs post-op. I have only lost 1lb in the last few days.

I'm on mushy foods, and I'm trying to get out and walk everyday. I'm not back in the gym yet, because I want to wait a bit longer to really let myself heal before I go too crazy with workouts. I'm getting in all my Protein and cals. I have my first check-in appt with my surgeon on Thursday, and I really wanted to be down at least 20lbs by day 21. Am I crazy? Am I doing something wrong, or is this the infamous 3rd week stall???

HELP!

I have been in the infamous 3 week stall now for the past 2 weeks. I know I shoulldnt complain since I have lost so much weight in the beginning. but 2 weeks and now 1 pound lost. I eat between 600-800 calories per day 60-80G of Protein less than 35% carbs and less than 22% in fat intake. I know I am not exercising enough but I still try to do something everyday even if it is walking a mile. I am very frustrated right now.

yes, you're crazy :-) You can't keep up a pound per day for long!!! Be prapred for no weight loss for weeks at a time... it happens to almost everyone. But the weight will come off, don't get discouraged.... this is normal!

Really...you are all doing great! The pound a day doesnt last forever ( darn it!) I go back and forth, a lb a day then no weight loss for a week, just varies. Please dont be frustrated, it will happen. I keep telling myself the slower I lose, the less saggy skin I will have. Keep up the fantastic work everyone!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
