Attention ! Australian Sleevers

Recommended Posts

Hi guys!!! I finally worked out the site changed and have finally logged in lol. Well as of Monday I'm now halfway with my weightloss!!! I have now lost 35kgs. I'm so so shocked. But I did go shopping as I had to buy new shorts and 3/4 pants as all mine fall down as I walk haha. Well I'm now fitting in size 20 in Millers clothes which is fantastic. <br> Misty I hope all goes well with ur next op. It's good that ur surgeon can do it as u know what he is like

It's great being able to buy new clothes! Don't make the mistake that I made and buy too many as you will notice that you start to drop down the sizes pretty quickly now. They seem to get closer together as you go down - meaning it starts to take less of a weightloss to drop sizes - well at least that's what it felt like for me. Keep enjoying the ride down!

It was so nice to finally meet Lissa and Susan and yes .. Just like catching up with old friends! What a great time just chatting and not always about our sleeves but about life! Thanks gals ... Great fun!

You all look amazing. I wish i could have joined you. I will be in Sydney a lot next year, so I look forward to another opportunity.

Thanks Kelli - I said to my husband before I met up with Liss and Susan "I hope I recognise them" - he said "you will, just look for the skinny happy chicks!". Really looking forward to catching up with you/meeting you when you get to Sydney!

Hey does anyone know how to turn off the option where all posts are emailed to you - hey I love you guys but the emails drive me a bit mad sometimes - you could turn this off in the old version but I can't figure out how to do that on the new ipad version.

2nd week 107kgs

Tomorrow will be 3 weeks

I moved to mushy food but mostly have fluidly as I wasn't getting enough in I can only manage 3 tsps and then I have trouble drinking Water. I am greatful for the weight loss but worried how I will go at work when I'm stuffed by 2pm.

It really does get a little better each day. Have faith in your body - it sounds like it is healing really well and the weight is moving. You must be feeling chuffed. Try to take it easy and have an early night every day this week. You'll be fighting fit soon.

Thanks. I love this site when I'm feeling low I read other peoples inspiring stories. But nice to have other people going through the same thing. I don't have anyone as friends poopooed the surgery. I have my 19 who is great but he is 19. I am feeling chuffed about the weight loss prior I would loos 10 kgs and the gain it back so this tool is a heaven send (thanks to a dr or 2. Lol)

Hi Newlife, I know what you mean, I was done 8/10 but was lucky to be able to stay home for a few weeks, still going back was a hard slog, think I was in bed about 8 every night, been back two weeks now and it's getting easier each day.

I much preferred the older version, slowly learning my way around this one, glad you got it sorted.

hi new life - yes you will have low energy for quite a while. I found it was really important for me to try and eat every 2-3 hours. Just a few teaspoons is good - you will find that this will increase as the weeks go by. . I too had a moment when I thought that I was going to never be able to eat more than a spoonful of scrambled egg for the rest of my life at each meal - but it is amazing how that does increase as the swelling goes down. You will not be fully healed for 6 weeks after the op so just be kind to yourself and eat what feels ok. Just go really slowly. If months down the track you still don't have energy, just get your Iron levels checked - I became iron deficient.

Don't worry about the nay sayers - as they see your weight dropping and your energy levels increasing they will stop being so negative. You did this for you and your family so you could live a long good quality of life and I can't tell you how happy you will feel when you slip into that first pair of size nothing jeans and you are looking hot! Then we will see if the people that didn't think it was a good idea still think the same thing! so keep your chin up - I promise it gets easier. You have us here to support you - we have all gone through different things so between us all we have just about every emotion covered! So plenty of people with shoulders to cry on and plenty of people to give you a pat on the back! Good luck with work.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
