I was sleeved on 4/11 and last night was the first night I was able to sleep in my bed! I have been sleeping in our recliner because I am so bloated and it was uncomfortable.....ah the little things

I was also sleeved on 4/11. The recliner is my new best friend. I can lie flat in bed for a couple of hours but not much longer.

I couldn't take it anymore. It is uncomfortable when I turn over but I was up every 2 hours in that chair!!!! I just need a good night sleep. Lol.

Congrats btw! How are you making out otherwise?

I am doing great!! Had my first post op visit with surgeon today. I am cleared to go back to work & do anything I feel like doing. Down 8lbs since surgery :). No problems getting my fluids in but still struggling to get all my Protein in. The frisbee sized (j/k) chewable vitamins are horrible. How is it going for you?

I don't see my surgeon until 4/30! I am struggling with fluids but working on it . Wish I could have tuna/chicken salad with lett and tomatoe on a cracker....lol. Protein is hard....I gag on the shakes! Going to look for something else tomorrow. I am down 13 pounds but again not getting everything in! Ugh

I know how you feel!!! The shakes made me gag and turn my stomach! Hang in there! Ur in the 2nd hardest phase! But soon you will be able to get your Protein with foods. I went and got some New Whey 40 grams of Protein Shots that are 3 oz at Vitamin store and ate that with some greek yogart. But spread the shot out during the day if you go that rout. It made me feel crappy if i drank it in one sitting. Yuck! Just the thought of a Protein Shake makes me gag!!! You are almost outta the shakes phase, then on to better things! Lol

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
