Hey friends! I have not checked in for quite awhile, took a little break from the forum. I weighed 187.1 lbs this morning, so that makes me down 4.5 lbs since I last checked in 4 weeks ago. It has definitely slowed down, but I'm ok with that as long as I'm still losing. I have 21 lbs until I hit my surgeons goal of 100 lbs lost, and 37 lbs until I hit my personal goal of weighing 150 lbs. I am playing it by ear, may change that goal as I get closer. It has been so long since I have weighed less than 200 lbs, that I don't really know where would be a good weight for me!

I hope you all are having a wonderful week, and I look forward to hearing how you are doing!

Welcome back Kristina! I understand the slowing down - me too!

I am down 1.4 this week to 148.2. I'll take it. I'm less than 20 lbs to goal and have done very little exercise through it all (half my time with a leak) so I know it's time to start exercising faithfully. I need to use this week to get in to a routine. The goal I picked isn't in the normal BMI range but slightly above it. I would love to lose and get in to that range but if I don't I am ok with that too. Right now I need to do some major toning.

Kristina - I think you will know when you hit the right weight. It might take some time but it wil happen!

Libbe - toning is my biggest issue right now. I haven't been working out, add that to aging skin and pre surgery sag due to years of yo you dieting and I'm a mess without clothes on! (but I'm looking damn good fully dressed ;) )

Drum rollplease - I hit my goal (actually .6 under on) this week. Yay for me!

Hello, August sleeves! I didn't know this page existed! I weigh once a week and am down 86.5 lbs now. I am about 40 lbs from my goal weight and couldn't be happier with my decision to do this!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
