I had my VSG in July 2013....I have lost 125 pounds thus far....however, I am suffering from Severe and Intractable burning and pain in my feet....and now my hands ....have turned painful and red.....as is one leg.....I also have parathesia in my abdomen and inner part of my thighs and legs.....I am going through a myriad of tests.... and working with my internist....had lots of bloodtests.....MRI tests...will have to see another neurologist...the one that I had seen offered an anti depresant medication(that I felt wa rather insulting ) since he did not address the severity of the situation and the intracatable pain....needless to say, I will see another neurologist,a rheumatoligist, an endocrinoligist.....to determine the source of all of this post op problem.....anyone ever had this ?I also went to the gym to work out several times a week and perhaps, I should have waited...I am taking all of the Vitamins annd eating as I am able../....

It sounds scary. I'm sorry. At what stage is your treatment? Although I was diagnosed with neuropathy, I don't know anything about peripheral neuropathy. As far as I know, ordinary neuropathy is much easier to treat. But, of course, I can be wrong. I managed to get rid of this disease thanks to supplements to improve blood circulation. I took these supplements for a while and noticed the result. But, of course, not all may be suitable for the same treatment. So, naturally, you need to follow the recommendations of your doctor. I wish you good health and a speedy recovery.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
