I have ventured into many foods yet but so far everything is tolerated. I used some powdered lemonade drink mix in my Protein powder yesterday and it gave me a bit of heartburn, but was fine once I watered it down a bit.

I know someone who dumps on OJ. She can eat oranges, just not straight OJ. I know another who can't keep scrambled eggs down. Any other form of egg is OK.

I haven't been able to tolerate really spicy food yet. Pre-op I loved jalapenos on my nachos. Post op, the jalapenos bite me big time. I'm hoping that I'll be able to add some spicier food back in as I get further out. I also became lactose intolerant post-op, but that seems to be resolving itself now. I drank some milk a couple of days ago and had no ill effects. :)

I cannot tolerate plain Water anymore. Since I don't like to use any ingredients I can't pronounce, it is a challenge to flavor my water! Herbal teas help, but I find I get bored with one flavor rather easily, so I am trying to add to my selection.

I totally can not eat lettuce or any raw leafy vegatable. . . it causes me incredible pain, like call me an ambulance type of pain. . . i don't eat vegatable salads anymore. . . also chocolate gives me a really bad puke stomach ache, which is good though. . .who needs chocolate. . . I'm not a bread person, but this too has it's ending point. . couple of bites and i feel like i need to throw up. . . it's like the bread is crawling back up my throat. . . yuk nasty feeling. . .the other thing is i dare not mix up foods. . if i'm eating a hamburger tht is all nothing else, if i'm eating some rice that better be it, not rice, meat, veggies, dessert, one food at a time or i'll be sick. . and here is the kicker, I'm out 3 years and still have these going on, but it's ok with me!

hi soon to be sleever

all sleevers react to foods differently. some people might have no problem eating anything at all. The sleeve loves all food. I was pretty much in that category

but the other day i was making a veal stew in the crock pot, and i snitched 2 small raw carrots. Oh no, the sleeve protested against those nasty raw carrots. - but cooked in the stew, no problem...hmmmmm, go figure.

Oh, the other day i had some pickle, oh no, sleeve said "no no no - stop" pre-surgery i loved pickles. :(

again, I can't tell you what food might upset your stomach after you have had your surgery. What one sleeve might not like, another persons sleeve likes that food. Your sleeve will tell you in its own sweet time.

good luck on your surgery

kathy

1 year 4 months out and there is NOTHING that I can't tolerate. I just don't eat near as much as I used to - DUH! That's why I got the surgery!

Eaten it all, greasy, high carbs, sweet etc. A few times I've eaten TOO much but no particular food give me problems.

high carb makes me sick. . .

I have to confess, we over did it on the carbs last week when we went to Branson for my birthday. I could really tell a difference that I had eaten so many carbs for a few meals. Felt sluggish and dopey. I tolerated it well with no adverse reactions to the food itself, it's just that my system seemed to really hate the massive influx of carbs. I was glad to get back on my more temperate diet this week.

I can eat most everything but I've found that heavily breaded items like breaded shrimp from tgi fridays and heavily breaded chicken are hard on my stomach- makes me nauseous.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
