Anyone else have weird changes after surgery? I'm (basically) 27 years old, never had an issue with pimples or acne in my teen years. In the past 2 weeks I have had pimples popping up all over my face, mainly on my chin though. Anyone else experiencing this? Funny how for years it's pounded into our brains that fried foods cause pimples, now that I've completely stopped eating all the greasy stuff and bad stuff I get pimples. Haha!

It may be all the toxins coming out since we are not eating those greasy chocolaty foods....LOL yes I have had a few not many just 3 but they hurt and are annoyingly ugly

I had a few at first, and then my skin cleared up and is now better than it's been in years! They'll pass.

Yes, mostly whiteheads around my chin and some on my cheeks. I actually had a few on my abdomen, if that isn't weird. Nothing big or scarring though.

It's probably due to hormone fluctuations....... I didn't have this problem thankfully. It will clear up..... ;)

I'm less than 2 weeks post-op. My chin is breaking out like a deep fat fried teenager. Acne to the sides of the chin is generally linked to hormones, which makes sense -- considering the changing hormone levels, body distress, etc. going on.

I'm 36 and am broken out worse than when I was 14. In the span of 4 days, I've had 6 deep zits (the kind that just get big and red and never surface) pop up on my chin, and one on the little strip of skin between my nostrils.

This bites.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
