Hi All,

Officially 3 months since my op. and lost slightly over 40 pounds but I think the weight loss is already slowing down. I started eating more fish as I can eat less of it before I feel full. chicken and red meat don't work as well, strange isn't it!

How are you all doing?

My 3 month aniversary is coming up in a couple of days (the 22nd). I'm doing pretty well. I'm down 55 pounds today!! Can't wait to hit onderland!! I'm also down about 6 clothes sizes...from 24W to 12 in misses!! I really hate the stalls...but after the stalls comes a big chunk of weight loss. The eating part is really weird for me though. Sometimes, I can barely eat 3 bites of Protein, then again, I can eat the whole 4 ounces at a meal.

Exercise is fun for me now. I love that I can be active again, I'm doing the Couch to 5K program and my goal is to do a 5K by my birthday in June. I ran in shorts for the first time yesterday. I love wearing shorts again!! I'm also back in the gym again and I don't feel so self conscious being there.

I would love to hear how everyone else is doing too! Come on December Sleevers! How's it going?

Well done Decembers!!! I was sleeved 12/1/11 and I’m down 51 pounds and I’m going to the gym regularly which is cool. I went for a long walk over the past weekend and I could not believe how I was able to do it without huffing and puffing and no pain in my back or knees and ankles. I stared in a 24-22 and now I’m in an 18 so I would like to keep going like I am for awhile.

I was sleeved Dec. 13th so I'm just pass 3 months. I'm down 49 lbs today and my weight is coming off SOOOOO SLOWLY! It's been slow for about 1 1/2 months and I'm so concerned that my honeymoon is over and the rest is up to me. If I could have done it by myself to begin with then I wouldn't have had the surgery! All the people on this website keep talking about joining a gym and their extreme workouts and I just don't get it! I hated exercise before the VSG and obviously had a problem with controlling the amount and types of foods I was eating so how are people completely changing their habits with just having the operation??? I'm not giving up...I joined a gym and hired a personal trainer but I hate exercise like I've always hated it. I still find myself cheating with bad foods more often than I should. I am having extreme anxiety's over this and can't believe I went to the extreme of having VSG only to have to fight the same demons I had prior to surgery. I think I expected the surgery to help me out so much more than it is and I'm having major regrets and depression is hanging heavy. The hair is starting to fall out and the saggy skin is hanging and I knew what to expect prior to surgery and I kept telling myself that I would rather be skinny with thin hair and have saggy skin than be fat B-U-T that was contingent upon being able to be thin! Since my weight lose has extremely slowed down and it seems every 1/4 pound I have to fight for, the surgery seems a mistake. It's been a bad 1 1/2 months and my reality is upsetting. I'm venting and don't mean to bring anybody down. VSG obviously works for a whole lot of people in helping them make lifestyle changes...I pray someday it helps me.

Please don't be depressed. I had my sleeve on Dec 5th and I've lost 52 pounds which my doctor says is WAY to fast. Losing your hair is a direct result of not getting enough Protein so you need to try and get that in. I use Protein powder in my yogurt and pudding. I also drink shakes between meals. Exercise is going to have to be a part of your life. I know you don't like it but try to find something that is fun and it won't seem as bad. You are doing great and I have stalled at times as well so that is normal. You are only beginning your journey. Let your body do what it's going to do and try to relax.

I was sleeved 12/27 and Im down about 55 pounds + or - 2 pounds. I couldnt be happier with the results so far. Ive gone from a tight xxl shirt to a large, a tight 44 pants to loose 40's in just 3 months. Frumpy I dont understand the regrets, youve lost 49 pound in just over 3 months. Thats great results. Please dont get the mindset that the losing is over because its not! Everyone goes thru stalls, some short and some longer, if you continue to follow the rules you will see results.

I was sleeved 12/13/11 and I'm super in love with it. I started out on the journey at 287(9/26/11), surgery day I was at 260, and today I'm proud to say I've actually made it to onederland with me weighing in at 191 this morning so yeah I'm in love with my sleeve.

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Sleeved Dec 28th and down about 20lbs since surgery day, but had lost 5.5 lbs the prior 10 days on liquid diet. Slow loser, but headed down.. Hopefully it doesn't stop .. Congratulations to all of you!

This is so upsetting and heartbreaking to read! But, I am glad you are sharing it here.

You are down 49 pounds, which is really good. I don't know about you, but haven't been able to sustain a loss like that in years, prior to surgery.

I too am dealing with slower losses now and the ability to eat the wrong foods. But, at 49 pounds down, surely it is easier to exercise now and you have some momentum to work from? You also started at a lower BMI than many and I have heard that a lower BMI can mean a slower loss. I would not give up on this surgery yet!

I too hate exercise so I try to do things that are not just weights and treadmill stuff, such as Water aerobics at my gym, or walking several miles around the neighborhood. I also have an elliptical trainer at home which often gets a little dusty. I need to start biking to the store with this mild weather.

Have you considered seeing a counselor to discuss the cheating with bad foods? Are you not feeling fullness, or are you intentionally choosing foods that slide right through? Can you go to a support group in your area, or even an Overeaters Anonymous meeting? Is your family supportive?

There is such a huge psychological component to our eating! I appreciate your post as I too worry and I am trying to stay on the straight and narrow.

Thank you Amanda 3.0 for your encouraging words! I think it's just a mental slump I'm going through and I'm sure I will pull out of it soon. I guess just the realization that I have to exercise and diet after going through such a major surgery just kind of threw me for a loop! Yes, exercise is easier with less weight but it's the mental part that I struggle with. Prior to my surgery I had asked if my lower BMI would give slower results or less hair loss and I was told that it didn't matter. I'm not giving up, just hit a bump in the road. I appreciate your concern and wish you all the best on your journey!

Thank you Bobustermax and Donniej for your encouragement as well! I KNOW I will get to my goal weight...it's just going to be with some struggles...BUT I WILL DO IT!

This is an update I am 17 weeks post op and down 58.5 lbs, I am 5 lbs from my 1/2 way mark for my goal of 160. I'm happy but I also have mixed feelings...this is not as easy as I thought it would be pre op LOL!!!

I was sleeved on Dec 11th. I'm down 62 lbs total and 52 lbs since the day of the surgery, currently at 240lbs. I too have had a very hard 6 weeks, fluctuating between 236-242, but the trend is down, just not consistently and not at the rate it was. It's VERY VERY frustrating, but I'm trying to keep positive. I look at this loss phase as a 12-18 month process and we are only 4 months in. Keep up the good work everyone ... And pray that my stall breaks soon

I just wanted to say to everyone on this journey don't be discouraged. Follow the diet/lifestyle plan your surgeon or nutritionist gave you. As with anything you have to tweak what your told to make it work for you. In my case I have eliminated carbs of all kinds from my diet and all fruits and veggies as my dinner Breakfast Snacks and lunch are completely Protein rich. And so far this has worked well for me.

Today's weight (4 months post SD) 185#

I normally stall 1-2 before my period and then drop 5 while there and the week following I bounce back and forth 2-5# then drop something by weeks end.

During this journey take this time to learn your body and know what works for you Water and exercise are my clutches what's yours?

I was sleeved on 12/13/11. My highest weight was 312, surgery day I was 298. Today I can be proud to say I am down 90# to 222. This has been quite a journey all ready and there is so much more to go. Glad to see that everyone is doing well :

Good to see you guys in here and read about your progress and emotions! I was sleeved on 12/19/2011 and was 257 on surgery day, and was 205 this morning... Onderland is a tease.. Lol! I feel like I am a slow loser, but I know that I am trying to make good choices and exercise.. Not alway succeeding, but aware when I veer of program and usually get back to it quickly. I am so happy to be in size 12-14, and have so much more energy to keep up with my 5 year old. I still want to lose 50 more... I have already undone 11 years of gains, so I count that as good progress! Looking forward to the next check in!
