Recommended Posts

Hey, I decided to check theRnYtalk.com and discovered that there is hardly anyone on that site. I am so thankful that we have so many wonderful caring people on this site. Thank you Alex for making this possible. This is a great family to be part of.

I think the reason this site is so great is because the sleeve works. Most of us are successful in the end (even if there are a few glitches along the way). I got attacked on Lapband talk when I asked for advice when my band broke. I love it here too! I truly don't think I would have had the courage to have my sleeve if it weren't for the wonderful people here supporting me and telling about their journeys.

I agree, I went to lapband talk recently to see if anyone was in chat. There was and I got attacked for my sleeve decision! I was so shocked.

I adore this site and have learned so much

I definitely have found this site in particular to be awesome. I used to visit another website that has been around for probably a decade or longer. At one time, it was the main place I went. However a few years ago I stumbled upon this place and thank goodness I did. Without it, I would never have chosen the sleeve and the sleeve is the best thing that ever happened to me. Which I guess means so are all of you!!

I agree, this is a great place for us! I went to another site too for a couple years before I ever had the sleeve, when I was considering the band. I'm so glad I decided on the sleeve and found this board! People here are kind and helpful.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
