One Month Out - With Pics

Recommended Posts

Well my friends, it has officially been four weeks since my surgery in beautiful Las Vegas! And what an amazing month it has been. I will have to say that I am truly one of the lucky ones! I have had absolutely no complications whatsoever. My Nanner has no lactose intolerance, no heartburn, no sliming, no irregularity, no food aversions, nothing...zip,...nada...zilch. IT'S WONDERFUL!!

So to ask me would I do it again, my answer is a resounding YES!!!!!! I started this journey with a 2wk preop at 243, this morning I was at 212. I lost 15lbs on the preop and 16lbs since my surgery on 01/20. I have posted pics below and I may be biased, but I can really tell!!

So to anyone contemplating this procedure I say go for it! It's an incredible tool to have!! I started on the elliptical today so hopefully the weight will keep falling off! Thank you to all for the encouragement! And Good Luck to everyone!!

Kacy

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
