Can't Wait For My Surgerversarry!

Recommended Posts

March 24th will be 1 year. Weight loss has slowed as I still drink a lot, but so far I've lost 152lbs.

I have gone from 379 to 227. I feel great. I get hit on in the grocery store. This has been an amazing ride. I'm so lucky to have had this resource to learn and help me thru my journey.

For those of you still thinking about this, it is a non issue. Just do it! This is the best thing thats ever happened to me!

I would like to add, before surgery I was pre-diabetic. now I'm not. Pre-surgery I was on blood pressure meds, now I'm not. And last week I was told by my sleep doctor to throw away my CPAP machine, because now I don't have sleep apnea!

So excited!!!!

I feel sort of lost in this sleeve world, I started out trying to get the DS but because of my thyroid cancer I was told I could only get sleeved for right now. I started out at a pre op weight of 288 and I now weigh 251 , my surgery was Dec. 14th, I'm feeling not as successful because it will be 2 months and I haven't lost a lb since January 14th, has anyone else had this slow down is this normal? I don't eat sugar, fat, i throw up a lot due to stuff not staying down and I drink all day Water, milk and crystal light....I excercise for 1 hour a day and the weight is still not coming off..starting to feel like it might have been a mistake.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
