Libido Sudden Increase?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everybody,

I am 4 months out and 68 years old. I am almost too embarassed to ask this, but you're family right? I know there is improvement in body image as a factor in libido, but I have had such an increase (like someone turned the switch to on) that I have never experienced anything like this even when I was in my 20's and in great shape. Believe me, my husband isn't complaining, he just feels like he's sleeping with a new woman LOL! I am concerned, however, feeling like this has become an obsession. I know some people would say go with the flow (no pun intended), but I feel out of control. I read somewhere that as fat cells shrink they release hormones, not sure what kind. My husband is concerned that the switch will just as suddenly be turned to off. I know some won't consider this a problem, but I truly am worried.

OMG, enjoy it while you can! LOL Keep it at home and it'll be soooooooooooo healthy for you. I'm sorry to say that i have no experience with this, so no words of wisdom. Just have fun, don't make it another source of stress. Think of it as a really nice, long vacation, they all come to an end and become fond memories.

All I can speak for is the guys and YES the ratio of testosterone per pound increases so it's just like getting a "booster shot". I had to start T shots a few years ago and had to cut waaayyy back on my dosage, becasue as I lost a lot of weight the T level went through the roof.

I understand that estrogen is also stored in fat so as it's burned the ladies also get a "boost" in sex drive too.

Go get 'em tigress!

It could be some sort of cross-addiction, if you are really worried it might not be a bad idea to talk to a psychologist.

lol got the same thing going on too. The extra weight decreases hormones levels, so as we lose it the hormone levels increase. I didn't have a monthly for a long time, and now it's back on the regular. Enjoy you new found libido!

Happy Valentines

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
