Constipated? This Worked For Me

Recommended Posts

I tried a lot of different laxatives until I found one that worked for me and maybe it will help you, too. I only take 2 at night and it keeps me regular. Stimulant-free and doesn't cause cramps. It's very gentile. Here is a link for it.

Eating more Fiber. Seriously, I HATE medications. It's just one of my issues. I guess I'm supposed to be on mushies, but I have broccoli and a high Protein low carb cracker thing I fount at Cost Plus. It have whole wheat and sunflower seeds. When I got constipated earlier I took a shot of Citrucel. it sort of worked, but YUCK!

No, it doesn't bother my stomach at all. They're not small pills but I don't think they're huge either. Not near as big as my Calcium tablets are. Anyway, I don't like taking anymore medication than I have to either, but I was only eating dense Proteins for a while and that will stop you up fast!

I used to suffer from Constipation all my life. Now I find a glass of apple juice/day keeps me regular.

Saturday I had a bad day. I was 8 1/2 weeks out and the first time I had a little tummy ache all day and horrible watery diahrrea. I took an anti-diahrreal and it stopped but didn't have a BM at all yet. So yesterday I took some Miralax, but so far even today, noi BM yet. I have not stopped drinking liquids at all in order to keep hydrated. I hope it was just a touch of this flu that's going around here since I had a little of a temp also. I will take another Miralax later. I don't know if I am constipated or not!

All the Phillips laxative is that I posted the link for is Magnesium. Same stuff as Milk of Magnesia, basically. I think it's more gentle than Miralax, which I've tried.

I took colace and it really did NOTHING.. I tried drinking.. "plum smart-light" and it did the trick.

I know this is a dumb question, but what does it feel like to be constipated? I don't think I have ever been. I still have not had a BM since my diahrrea ordeal on Saturday. I don't have a tummy ache or anything or feel bad. Although i hdid not hardly eat anything Saturday but was able to eat a little more yesterday.

With me, the stool is so hard and big around that it's very painful to pass and has caused me hemmorroid problems. It also doesn't want to come out so there is a lot of straining involved to get it out. I imagine giving birth when it happens. Sorry to be so graphic but it's the truth.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
