  1. 7 years ago I had terrible, horrible c-dif... in fact it was life threatening. it took a couple of months but I got over it and was fine and have not had a flare up since. Now---I had my sleeve surgery in November and have lost about 70 pounds, I now weigh 178.5 YIPPI!! I have never had bathroom problems except the occastional constipation/diarrhea that I would consider as normal. UNTIL..... about a week and a half ago I had diarrhea that was almost pure Water.. it would hit me and I had to go right that second..... I assumed I had eaten something that didn't agree with me... The frequency of having to go has gotten less. but I still have very, very loose diarrhea in fact it is practically water. My intestine will gurgle and rumble and you can tell from the sound it is water gurgling in there. In a few minutes I will feel as if I have to go but cannot.. then sometimes I feel I just have gas.... and guess what.. it is more!!! when I had c-dif.. the feces smelled different.. like a home permanent, the nurses said that if you ever smelled c-dif you would never forget it.. I agree.. my poop now smells just like normal poop. (don't you love the visual of me smelling my poop) My question.... have any of you developed a irritable bowel or any intestine difficulties after having surgery??? Rhonda
  2. I am a horse rider.. I was down about 50 pounds when I could mount my horse from the ground... with out a cheating log/rock to help. !!! I love my sleeve!

When Did You Return To Work?

I was sleeved on a Wednesday.. and went back to a desk job on Monday. on Monday and Tuesday I only worked 1/2 day.. after that.. full time like normal. I had a VERY easy surgery, had no real pain and no gas pains... so I may have been the exception to the rule.. Rhonda
  4. I have finally stopped having the watery BM and the liquid gurgling in my gut.YEA!! Because of the c-dif I had years ago I have been eating a lot of yogurt and taking probotics. and it seems to have helped. C-dif is a condition caused when all the good "flora" in your gut is killed and the c-dif spores go wild... it almost killed me several years ago.. and it was all caused by taking 2 rounds of antibotics for a abcessed tooth. This is the reason the info papers on antibiotics say if you have diarrhea see your doctor. The antibiotics kill all of the good flora and then c-dif can go wild. For those of you who have watery BM's and are still earing mush and lots and lots of liquids like Soups .. I would expect your diarrhea is cause because of the Water in water out type thing.. at least that was how it was with me when I had my surgery 7 months ago. If your diarrhea is later then you should be looking for other reasons.. That is why I posted on here.. I was looking for another reason that WAS NOT c-dif... I don't really know why I had the watery BM's for 1 1/2 week but hopefully the gut is getting back to normal now. Rhonda
  5. ok.. read a little about dumping.. I am having no cramps, sweats, sick feeling.. just a mild twinge in my gut that says... gotta go to the RR.. not really a cramp.. I am not eating anything different from what I have eaten for the last 7 months. I have had some suger but I really don't eat much sugar anyway.. This Diarrhea has gone on for more than a week non stop.. Can you folks give me list of your dumping symptons? Rhonda
  6. Benisa... I have not even thought of "dumping"... I will have to look that up. Rhonda

I eat anything I want..... I am 7 months out.. and I eat a bite or two of anything I want.. but that is usually all I want of BAD FOR YOU STUFF... I am totally satisfied with just a bite... THANK you to my sleeve!! Rhonda

    Strange Stomach Noises?

I am 6 months out.. Mine still make the loudest, strangest noieses.... if I eat too much it back talks me even more. I don't think if will ever go away, especially when I over fill it. Rhonda
  9. I have eaten both corn and coconut. I am 5 months out. I was told I could basically have anything I wanted but in moderation. I definately would not eat tons of either but I love both so I plan to continue to have some. Rhonda
  10. I am soo sorry you are having a rough time! just remember each day you will get slowly better. It may feel really, really slow.. but you will get better! don't despair.. although it is hard not to at times!!! But look to the goal!! Rhonda

    Piercings?

OK girls... I'm an old foggy.... I know where the piercing is on the nipple but why?? I am not being snarky but truly want to know.. does it feel better during sex when they are tugged??? how about the piercings "down below" where exactly are they and doesn't it hurt during sex and anyother type activity that might rub that area? I am a horse rider and cannot even contimplate having a piercing down there? someone please explain the appeal.. I am truly asking for honest reasons I'm not judging or trying to be negative!!! I've always wondered! Rhonda
  12. I had a wonderful NSV!! I work at a high school, a coach that was here last year but went to another local school this year came by the school. I was in the faculty workroom signing out when he and another coach walked in. When he saw me his eyes bugged out.. and he said.. "Girl... how many rocks of Crack you smoking a day?" The other coach who I work with daily and knows about my surgery quickly said.. "at least 3 a day". I laughed and laughed... I have lost about 55 pounds since August. I had surgery in November but started dieting seriously in August. I still laugh when I think about it.. Rhonda

I Bought The Padded Butt Panties..lol

They look really good... where did you buy them.. what type of store. It seems I've seen them, but until I lost weight I always had a butt.. now I have a bad case of "Noassatall". rhonda
  14. Try drinking "Dasani" (misspelled I know) water! for some reason this particular brand goes down better with less upset tummy.

    Can't Sleep

Please don't dispair! It will get better! My tummy has a life of its own. Every sip and every nibble of food would make it talk back to me and tell me what a terrible person I was for doing what I did to it! Remember... your tummy has been in for a MAJOR shock... it will fuss at you.. you will get depressed because you just had surgery and you will wonder what in the world you did to yourself.. but it will get better really soon! This feeling should only last a couple of weeks. Before long.. you will wonder.. hm.. I can hardly tell I had surgery... other than the fact I can't eat but a little bit! Rhonda

To Puke Or Not To Puke

I also agree with the above posts.... Whenever I eat too much or too fast I get the slilmes.. I HATE to throw up because it makes me feel terrible and pee my pants.. (I know TMI) But now post op--- if I need to throw up all I do is go to the RR and lean over the toilet and open my mouth.. it just comes up.. not even a gut wrenching puke just like a baby spitting up. I don't even pee my pants. After I throw up/spit up I feel SOOO MUCH BETTER! One day I will learn to eat slower, chew my food better, and don't eat too much!!! YEA RIGHT!!! I am 4 months post op and I have only done this 7-8 times. It is getting better, I am learning my bodys signals. Rhonda
  17. I was sleeved Nov. 2, 2011. I asked my doctor at the 2 week check up if he was sure he did the surgery because I had an EXTREMELY easy recovery!! I have lost 50lbs which isn't tons but good enough for me. I am hoping that if I had a great surgery experience (practically NO pain) and a fairly easy time eating and getting in what I should I won't lose much hair.!!! So far so good! I'm keeping my fingers crossed about the hair! Some folks just have an easier time with the surgery! I was not extremely overweight, 5'8", 243 lbs. I don't know if that made a difference but I am blessed to have an easy time so far!! Rhonda
  18. I have been a slow loser, I started taking the hair Vitamin before sugery, I try very hard to get all my Protein in. so far... 4 months out.. I have just lost a little more than what would be normal. I hope that is it... I have thin hair to begin with and really don't want to lose much. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and talking my hair vitaminis! rhonda
  19. I took colace and it really did NOTHING.. I tried drinking.. "plum smart-light" and it did the trick. rhonda
  20. Has anyone used these Vitamins?? I am having a major stall. I have an aunt who uses these she says they give her more energy and make her feel great. I know I should exercise more but just don't have the energy or time so I am hoping these would help. I don't want to take them if anyone know I shouldn't.. I don't go back to the doctor until March. Rhonda
  21. I also make venison jerky from the ground meat we get. yummy!!! Rhonda
  22. I eat a lot of Turkey Jerky.. it is harder to find than beef jerky but it is fairly soft (for jerky) and very chewy. I can get my chewing urge satisfied and be eating Protein. I just chew each piece very, very well. I am now making my own jerky using ground turkey. It is delicious! Rhonda

Help For The Dreaded Facial Hair?

I have a lighted 10x mirror and every morning and sometimes in the evening after I take of my makeup I get the tweezers out. I carry this mirror everywhere even when I travel. I bought it at Bed, bath and beyond. for somewhere between $30-50. It is a lifesaver. I can finally see those tiny hairs that are stiff but couldn't find in the regular mirror! Rhonda

    Post-Op Vitamins & Weight Loss

I take a Vitamin I get from the Health food store.. it is called "life's fortune" it is wonderful. It gives you lots of energy. I took the bottle to my doc and he looked it over and said it was fine to take them. I take 3 in the morning and it helps with energy. My daughter in law can take them and within hours can feel a difference in her energy level..it usually takes a couple of days before I "feel" more energized. It is not a chewable but a pill so you would have to be able to swallow pills. In the evening I take 1 flintstone's chewable w/iron and it has a terrible after taste. I also take the Bariatric Advantage calcium soft chews. they are sooooo good it is like eating a dessert!! rhonda
