OMG!!! I have a new problem. I have become a shoe-slure. I bought 7 pairs in one night. Now in my defense, (that is how I justify it in my head) they were all on sale. I did not spend too much. But turn around and 2 weeks later I bought 3 more.

LOL I told my husband, "Look I know I have a problem, you don't need to stage an intervention with meetings and cameras to make me admit that I have a problem. I know this already and that is the first step to getting better......right?"

And besides seeing how fab I look in new shoes motivates me to keep going towards my goal. (At least that's how I rationalize it in my head.)

This is a great post!! I'm only three weeks out, so by the time i'm done work, I'm pretty much exhausted and collapse on the couch, but I am getting SO SICK of TV. I was thinking of picking crocheting back up. I used to sorta do it to keep my hands busy. As soon as I am cleared to start working out, I plan on doing that too. But my doc pushed it back a few weeks. Not till 4-6 weeks out can I start doing anything resembling exercise (except the walk to my car, lol)

Other than put more into work, I still eat.

Eating slowly and concentrating on staying hydrating takes about just as much time as it used to. It's just that I eat healthier and in a smaller volume.

All of the other things I do now is just changing one habit into another. For example, instead of being a couch potatoe, I go shopping or visit friends and relatives.

LOL.....sorry, but not much in my life has changed.

I haven't been on Ebay for clothes in a while. You have renewed my interest.

Knitting and crochet, and now in the past week, have incorporated regular exercise at a gym. So that is taking the place of a lot of the old preoccupation with food at the moment. Trying to establish new things to do instead of eat is hard!

This is funny! I am not a clothes or a shoe person, but I have purchased three pairs of boots since December. I never had boots before, and I hadn't been able to wear jeans in a long while. My husband made a comment about the boots, and I just told him, "Hey, transfer addiction!" and we both laughed. I am done buying boots now.

As for what I am doing instead of eating, or kicking myself for eating, is spring cleaning. Also organizing and getting rid of clutter. And, thinking about what I want to do with my life (researching college options, business options, etc.) now that I don't have the excuse of being unemployable or a less valuable person because of my weight.

I am also spring cleaning. I have a list of things to tackle this weekend. I am trying to lighten my load in every area of my life! I have a good will pile growing by the day.

AH! I am so glad I'm not the only one that does this! I've bought more shoes in the last six months than I bought in the previous three years! But I'm at goal, half the size I was a year and a half ago and heels are just so much more comfortable these days. However, if I keep this up I'm going to need a separate closet for all of my shoes!

I also shop (probably a little too much) because that exhilarating feeling of fitting in a size small is still there every single time I try something on. I knit. I bake, then eat one cookie or croissant and give the rest away. I read. I go dancing with my husband, something I was always too embarrassed to do before. I play with my four year old twins more than I ever could before. Basically, I live life, and I live it happily.

I still enjoy food - at least the first two bites or so. It doesn't rule my life anymore and I don't spend hours of my day thinking about what I'm going to eat or agonizing that I can't eat because I'm on a diet. All of that time I used to spend thinking about food and eating is spent being a normal person.

It's awesome.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
