Hello Everyone-I'm a newcomer

Recommended Posts

I was banded on April 18, 2006 by Dr.Ortiz/Dr. Martinez in TJ, Mexico. I had the surgery along with my two daughters. We formed a family support group.:clap2:

The girls seem to losing faster than I, but that's ok because I had less to lose. As long as I see my waist bands getting looser is all that matters to me....slow but sure! lol

Good luck and God speed to all those on the same journey!

I appreciate the welcome and words of encouragement. My younger daughter has already lost 45#'s....isn't that awesome? The older daughter is down about 28# total...and I'm struggling along...lol I need to work out some and get those muscles toned, but after working 8 hours a day with the heat soaring to 112 degree's, all I want to do is come home and cool off! lol

I am starting to read alot more in this forum and hopefully I can become an asset to those who need help as I did in making my decision to be banded.

Thanks again for the welcome...and good luck to you on your journey!

Jack, thank you so much for the welcome. I have struggled with my weight all my adult life, and at last I have hope of finding myself again...the real me, that is! (Smilin')

Keep up the good work on your journey, and it is "work" isn't it? No one ever said it would be easy....but I'd do it all over again!

Have a great week.....can yoiu believe August is upon us? lol

Good evening to you and thanks so much for the welcome. Yes, my daughters and I are doing well after being banded in April. It's amazing that we had the same surgery, but we all have different reactions to it.

Just goes to show that God in His infinite wisdom made us all gloriously, unique and different! lol

Thank you so much for the welcome..Good luck to you and your continued success,,,and I, too, believe that there are indeed angels among us!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
