I am 6 months out and all I can think about is food. I can't wait to eat and am always thinking about what I get to eat next. It is driving me nuts. I am having a lot of the binge feelings coming back and they are so powerful. How do I keep this head hunger in check. Is it possible to be having cravings this soon after surgey? Any support would be appreciated!

I have the same issues but label mine as a food addiction. I am (still) looking for a psychiatrist in my area that works with food addicts. Do you have anyone around that can distract you when you feel this way? My husband has been through the ringer with me getting upset when he asks me if I'm hungry or if I just need a fix. It's difficult to deal with and I have no answers as of yet. I know what you are going through and it is not fun to want to eat all the time when you know that you shouldn't. Sometimes, thinking of my hospital stay (which was not a good experience) is a good deterrant... other times I try to go for a drive or go sit outside. I have discovered (rediscovered) that I love working puzzles. They work as a distraction almost too well. I don't think of anything else except the puzzle - not eating, drinking, going potty, cooking dinner, appointments, etc. If you can find a distraction, that may help sometimes but I would recommend seeing a professional that can help with therapy.

I am 1 month out and i feel this way. At least you made it to 6. I wish i had some tips.

Me too, about one month out, struggling with cravings and head hunger. I also label mine as food addiction, and got a recommendation for a therapist. I really think I need that to help.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
