Revised goal

Recommended Posts

Hello all! I just got back from an appt. with my surgeon. He seems very happy with my progress. He said I didn't need to loose anymore weight and I looked "terrific!" He asked if I wanted to loose any more. I told him that I thought 5-10 more pounds. My original goal was 150 pounds, but that was based on my high school years. Now, my body is shaped different and I think I might be too slim at that weight. Now my Goal weight is 165.

I am now officially 10 pounds away from my new goal weight! I am VERY excited and hopeful.

I justed wanted to share with the MOST supportive group ever!!!!!!!!!!1

Thanks, Shawn

This is just fantastic. Just think of where you started!!!! Only 10 more lbs. What happens after that? How do you maintain without losing. Oh my gosh, you might have to force yourself to eat something fattening now and then to maintain. :huggie:

Congratulations on your accomplishment.

Congrats! :huggie:

We know it isn't when you get to those last few pounds, the fight is really on.

(I'm down to about 6# from my doctor's goal, or about 16# from my own goal. And at this point every ounce counts!)

Fantastic news, huge congratulations. And you know, its those last pounds that make the biggest difference, so you'll really get the reward for this last little bit of effort.

Shawn, I see you are 5'8". I'm 5'5" and was hoping that 165 would do it for me. That's the weight I want to be for my Tummy Tuck, anyway. But I have wondered what my end weight was going to end up being, and if 165 was far enough for me. I am certainly willing to change my goal weight from 145 to whatever, as long as I'm comfortable.

So, I'm a mere 14 pounds from my tummy tuck goal weight of 165. (disregard sig if it doesn't say 179)

How weird is that? Isn't it still weird to be so close to goal? I don't have my head around that yet. I just don't. Anyhow, great job and congrats!!!

Thanks for all the support!

I don't think I'll have trouble with losing too much weight. Did I just say that???! I already eat a reasonable amount, however, I do count calories on fitday.com or my head.

The last 2 months, I have fought to lose as my body didn't want to let loose of the low 180's for 6 weeks.

It's is "unreal" to be so close to goal. In fact, I never would have thought it we be this close. I always thought that I'd be the one that wouldn't succeed with the lapband. I even shared this, at the mandatory support group meeting, pre-band.

Landbandtalk has given me a fantastic outlet to share with others. Most of the time, it is where I was drawn for support. I often feel other nonbanders, would be sick of my lapband talk. I REALLY am thankful...

Shawn

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
