I need some advice about the protien..help!!!

I tried to do all that Protein junk when I was first out but I found that I did best with liquids and clear broth. I was allowed strained creamy Soups, but I noticed that I felt so much better just taking in broth. You can worry about your protein after 2 or so weeks....that's when you are really supposed to be getting in the 60 grams of protein. I never could tolerate it and get my protein from whatever I eat. The protein makes me gag....

You'll get through this. Everything you're talking about sounds just like my recovery. You'll be back to normal sooner than you think.

A tip for when you get onto the protein: if the cold Protein shakes are harder to get down (they were for me) try mixing your vanilla Protein with some warm chai tea or coffee. The warm drinks were SO much easier on me in the beginning because cold drinks were hard to get down and made me feel nauseated.

Take care, you're doing great!

~Cheri

Edited to add: Make sure you don't mix steaming hot liquid with your powder, though, or it will clump. I brew my tea or coffee, then pour it into a shaker cup with a few ice cubes in the bottom, then mix in the powder. It's still warm enough to go down easier but not so hot it turns into a mess. I'm nearly 17 months out and I still drink a protein coffee or tea every morning, because it's a great way to get in some extra nutrition.

One way to make chicken broth more interesting - season it with soy sauce. I love it that way.

Also, my heating pad and a weight support belt were my best friends after surgery. I wore the belt 24 X 7 except when showering, and the heating pad on low when I was lying down or in the recliner.

Hang in there, it gets easier.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
