5 months or more out, how many calories per day?

Recommended Posts

For those of you at least 5 months out, what is your calorie intake daily? I have still been taking in between 700 and 900 per day and carbs below 50 a day. My exercise has increased to 5 times a week. I try to get more calories in on the days I exercise but never over 900. I would like to hear where everyone is at on their daily intake when you are at least 5 months out so I can measure where I am at. Please also list your exercise time you are doing.

Thank you.

Thats about where I was at 5 months. My Nut recommended 800-900 through the middle phase of losing. I am at 9 months now and eat around 1100-1400 a day. exercise 4 days a week. Eating a little more helped me come out of a 6-7 week stall not long ago.

I'm 5 1/2 months out. I get at least 60 grams of Protein, 64 oz. of Fluid per day and average between 700 and 900 calories per day. I also take all supplements recommended for my plan. I take my Calcium in tow doses in instead of three; my nut said that was OK because I kept forgetting to take it at lunchtime.

I exercise 5-6 days per week. Two 45 minute walks at a fast pace, two 1-hour group workout classes, one 30 minute session with my trainer, and one other activity, such as a bike ride, walk, or yoga class.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
