Really Depressed

Recommended Posts

I have just been reading this thread and think it is wonderful how you have all tried to encourage leenerbups especially funnyDuddies and Donna B. We have all been to this point where what we are going to wear becomes the really BIG issue. I think you are lucky to have somebody who loves you - good luck at the wedding

UPDATE:

I GOT A FILL TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to see my original surgeon today for a follow up and he gave me a fill in his office! He said he normally does not do this as most of his patients are not on Medicare (or can afford the out of pocket).

How nice of him was that??

I said to him at the begining of the visit "I researched surgeons for over a year and chose you for a reason. I'd hate to have to go to someone else". And that was the god's honest truth.

Awesome.

Oh, I have 1.5 cc's in a 4 cc band. I went to the beach after ward to swim. That won't hurt the puncture will t? I didn't even think of it till now.

No, silly, swimming won't hurt a needle puncture, unless the needle had the diamiter of, say, a kitten!

Hurray! A fill! I'm so very happy for you Bups-baby! Here's to finally getting your fill, and finally beginning on your real journey!

Oh leener, that's wonderful. How nice of your surgeon to give you a fill during your follow-up visit. Yay!!

I agree with vines, I highly doubt that swimming will hurt the puncture wound.

*dances around the thread doing the First Fill Dance**

OFFICIAL BANDLANDIAN FIRST FILL DANCE

Getting a fill in the office without flouro was a bit weird. He had me tighten up my muscles and felt around for it. I could feel my port when he touched it. That felt weird. He numbed it first with a needle and was very gentle doing that. I hardly felt it. Then when he stuck in the saline needle, I did feel pressure and soreness and he said he was sorry, but it wasn't that bad. He was feeling around for the "pop" he said. That is how he knows it went in. Thank god my surgeon is good enough to do fills both ways correctly.

He had me sit up with this weird thing sticking out of my port, like a valve, and drink Water as he watched me.

I was a little sore last night much not that bad.

I love my surgeon, he rocks. He is a good natured Russian dude that makes me laugh. Not only is he highly skilled, but our personalities click and that is why I did not want to leave his practice because Medicare are a bunch of poopie heads.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
