Getting protein from food

Recommended Posts

I have not tried to costco shakes yet and would also like to know specifically which ones you enjoy. Since Costco rotates their stock so often, I want to make sure I get the right ones.

Sde question regarding protein: how much per shake did u take? Mine has 30g in each shake I just bought today n I need to take 6 shakes day. But my doctor's office did not specify that and didn't return my call today. Thank u!!

I drink Premier Protein shakes from costco. They only come in chocolate but are so good. You can buy them online directly from the manufacturer in strawberry and vanilla as well, which is what I'll do if costco stops carrying them.

I checked out the Protein Shots and they have a Protein blend in them that I've read isn't easily digested by our sleeves. The Costco shakes have a blend of milk protein and whey protein concentrate, which I imagine is different than whey isolate which is the ideal protein from what I read. They seem to keep me strong though so I'm going to stick with them.

I only drink one shake per day because I can get some Protein from food. I just bought the vanilla yesterday actually! Can't wait to try it.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
