Should I go for wedding cocktails on last minute invite?

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

well, yes, this is very off topic. I am set for lap band to VSG revision on Oct 15th and excited about it, but something funny has come up in the whole non-scale arena.

Should I got for wedding cocktails a (sorta) former friend invited me to with less than a week and a half's notice? I assume she doesn't think I can go and that the invite was more of a courtesy. We haven't seen each other in years and she was part of a group of former friend that I no longer speak to. However, I would like to express to her that I appreciate her friendship (even if it's just acquaintanceship at this point) and honor the invite. This I assume would be a surprise to her and hopefully a pleasant one. Again, I know I'm probably invited to the cocktail party for those she'd rather not have at the wedding... which is fine with me actually as we haven't been close in many years. But I'd like to take the opportunity to express that I wouldn't mind being better friends with her. Should I go to the party?

Wow, women read sooo much into things ( no offense intended and you may well be reading it perfectly, but whew, all that has to be exhausting)

For me, if I really believed it was a back handed invite, I would most likely not attend. Now if I thought the friend invited me because they wanted me there and still considered me a friend then I'd go. :-)

I appreciate the advice, thanks!

I read that and agreed completely with pasquini. Why waste energy (and calories) on someone who only invited me because she thought I would not go and only invited me out of courtesy......

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
