3 weeks 2 days out

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery Aug 29th and I am down 20 lbs so far and already down a pant size! :) For the first week after surgery I was miserable! I was so mad at myself and wondering how I could do this to myself. I never realized how much I loved food until I couldn't have it anymore. I know it sounds silly but I mourned the loss of food, no wonder I was so over weight!?! :) Parties, family functions or holidays weren't as much about being around great people but about all the yummy food that was going to be there. I am now ashamed of the old me and like I said, I was totally blinded to it! I am sooooo over it now! :) Cant wait for the next get together just to be around people I love and have a great time! I'm doing pretty well on Vitamins and Protein but I have to increase my Fluid intake some, seems impossible to get so much in but I'll be there soon! :) I'm so excited about living a healthier, happy life and can't wait to see what's to come! Btw, just found out today that my mother was approved for the gastric bypass! I'm so happy for her! She so much deserves this, hope all goes well! Anyway, I finally done talking! :) Thanks for listening and good luck and good health to all!

Congrats Sue! You are doing great!

I had my surgery 6 days before you, and am currently stalled at a 19 pound loss. I totally know how you fet the first week - I would watch tv and think "How can all these people have normal stomachs and not be fat and get to eat lots for fun, and I can't??" I think I am over these feelings now though... I had 30 years to eat whatever i wanted, and it just made me fat and unhealthy! I have been to several social functions in the last 2 weeks, and not eating hasn't been a problem for me so far. I know I will still have some demons to face as far as eating issues go, though.

Keep up the great work!! :-)

Jen

Omg! I can totally can relate to you! I had my sleeve Aug 31st and the first week was miserable! I got depressed andthat is when I joined this forum! It was so hard to see my husband and family eating what they wanted and I had to have nothing but fluids. My surgeon really put me on pureed diet on the second week. As of today I am 3 weeks out but have found myself moping around because my weight feels like it has stalled even though my clothes is a little looser. I'm actually eating soft foods (fish, tuna, chicken) and they go down well. Bestest of luck to you! :)

Thanks Jen! I'm glad that I wasn't the only one that felt that way! :) Our surgery date was about the same & our Pre-op weight was about the same! We should keep in touch with each along our new journey! :) Hope you continue doing well!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
