One I didn't even realize I was doing.....

Recommended Posts

So I have a NSV that I noticed this morning and didn't realize I was even doing it until my daughter said something. We were driving to school this morning and she looked over at me and said "Mom, Is it really safe to be driving with your foot in the seat like that?" Then I realized it. There it was.... I had slipped my foot out of my flip flop and put my foot on the edge of the seat and was driving like that. Safe maybe not, but let me tell you this, coming from someone who use to worry about the steering wheel touching my tummy when I was driving, to having my foot in the seat with me, it was a huge victory. :D I almost took a picture of it but I figured it wasn't a good idea.lol

I'm feeling better and better every day. Walking, running and just moving in general feels so good. I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!

PS... If you are thinking about having the sleeve done, don't wait! Do you and your body a favor and DO IT!!!

That is funny because the other day my mom and I were going to the mall after we dropped the kids off at school. I have been putting my foot up on the side of the door for months now, but i guess she just never realized it. she said, my gosh your legs are so skinny. I was like what are you talking about. she looked over and said how can you keep it up like that, my knee was up near my boob, i just started laughing! it was so comfortable. I also sit like a pretzel at work now and everyone that walks past my office laughs at me!

YAY for flexibility!

It is such a great feeling. I used to be scared of getting down to sit on the floor with my niece. I now can get down, cross my legs, crawl with her and get up without help. Ahh to be free of you own body.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
