Do you have a scale?

Recommended Posts

I have a working scale now. I have a bit of an obsession with weighing myself. I know my weight from the morning before, I weigh myself in the middle of the night, and then I weigh myself in the morning again. Weighing myself in the middle of the night gives me a mental boost for how the morning weigh-in will be. It is silly, but that's me right now.

Hope this helps.

I have a health o meter scale that weighs to 380. Bought it at Walmart. It measures in .2 lb increments and is consistent which I like. I used to be scale obsessed and weigh every day but since around Christmas, I've only been weighing in on Fridays. There are so many other things that measure success besides the numbers on a scale!!!!

I have a health-o-meter scales that weighs up to 400lbs and it's pretty accurate in comparison to my doctor's scale. My only problem is that it's not digital, so while I was walking around big lots yesterday I saw a digital scale for $14. It weighs up to 396lbs. I was skeptical and still holding on to my receipt. But it was accurate as well, so we'll see how it goes. I have 30 days to take it back.

I have NEVER owned a scale for OBVIOUS reasons...not even with my lapband did I get one- I would wait and weigh in at my doc's office. Now with the sleeve and the weight loss being what I am hopeing is much more drastic/dramatic I feel like I should consider buying one BUT I dont want to gain another obsession... any suggestions??

I plan to throw mine out after surgery

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
