HAVE TO LOSE TEN POUNDS

Recommended Posts

Whatever Protein shake you decide on needs to have NO sugar....The weight will come of VERY slowly if at all with all the sugar in regular slimfast. I use nectar by Syntrax (chocolate mousse, or french vanilla) both delicious and you can mix it with chilled coffee and milk and a little SF Syrup for a YUMMY iced coffee Protein drink!! (I did a youtube video about how I make this!) My pre-op diet was 3-4 Protein shakes a day with 5oz of protein for dinner and as many veggies (no starch!) as I wanted with dinner. I did that for 2 weeks and lost 16.6 lbs!! You can do it!! <3

Thanks so much for suggesting Necatar by Syntrax! It is awesome. Ive lost 6 lbs in 3 days. They taste so much better then anything else Ive tried! It has really motivated me to count all calories and protein.:D

i lost a bunch pre op from slim fast. i would have one for Breakfast, then a 100 cal snack, then one for lunch and then another 100 cal snack....then i would have a dinner that was under 500 cal's....then another 100 cal snack. i lost 27 pounds in 2 months, and more than 45 pounds total before surgery. i was also exercising everyday for 30 minutes on the wii, and then 3 times a week walking 2 miles at a time. good luck to you.

From reading the forums, it sounds like different doctors have wildly different pre-op diets. My stateside doc (Washington State) had me go very low carb for 10 days or so before my surgery. I was not put on any kind of liquid diet, just had to restrict my carbs. I wish I could remember how many I was allowed, but it was really low. I could eat what I wanted, just not carbs. I ate a lot of bacon, pepperoni, meats, etc... I wouldn't want to do it as a lifestyle, but I didn't feel deprived at all during the 10 days.

And I lost around 20 pounds during that 10 days!

Throw in some lower legs and thigh workouts if you can. Legs r the largest muscle in the body and shed weight fast.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
