nausea - yes... I had bouts of nausea up until my 6 week post op... Just unexplainable when it would hit, sometimes after I ate, sometimes 2 hours after I ate, morning or night.. I could go 4 days without an attack, then have 2 in the same day... it was just so odd. I explained it as the room wasnt rocking like a boat, I was rocking like a boat... I felt so terribly sick I would have to lay on the bathroom floor because I did not know which way I would be sick..and I never did actually vomit or have diarha.... would get the sweats, could not get air... and as the attack would ease up I would get freezing cold... .. My doc gave me anti-nausea pills too, I didnt notice any difference. The only thing I did find relief with was GasX strips... they melt under your tongue, sometimes I would have to use 2, sometimes I needed to do a 3rd one.. No idea why these worked for me but they did... and I would release gas one way or another and the attack would ease up some... I got to where as soon as I felt one come on I quickly took a strip, so by the time it was in full swing I was disolving my 2nd one and getting ahead of it... it worked for me. Give it a try, you are not out much if it dont work for you..

I only have nausea every now and again, usually if I find myself eating too quickly. I too get will get hot sweats too if I eat to fast. I usually close my eyes and take really deep breaths. I've noticed however that it is easing up a bit each week. I'm sorry you are having a rough go at it. I hope it gets better!

I had nausea for a couple months after surgery. It was weird. It kind of came and went, off and on. Some days I would wake up with it several days a week. Then it would be gone but yet come back a couple of weeks later. It eventually went away for good.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
