Finally got my Surgery date... YAY for me!

Recommended Posts

I went to see my surgeon thus morning and after hours of waiting, due to the high volume number of patients and the shortage o staff, he finally gave me a date! I'm utterly excited, after months i can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, Change is coming and I'm excited to meet and greet her!:D

Doc said it mandatory that i get down to 300lb FIRST though, before my next visit which will be in a month... any ideas on how i can lose some weight? (already seeing my nutritionist, but I'm looking for Sleeve community assistance, who better to help you than the people who are going or went through it already)... feel free to leave suggestions and comments. I'm all ears like Dumbo!:D

Hi! Congrats on finally getting your date. I am scheduled to have mines on 9/19.

How much weight do you need to loose in one month....15 lbs?

Two words: Kettlebell Swings.

I'm doing drop sets of 20, four times a week until my surgery on the 23rd.

And for a professional-level arse kickin'

Tabata Kettlebell Swings

Take said kettlebell (25-35lb) and proceed to swing it for 20 seconds

Rest for ten seconds

Repeat 7 more times for a total of 8 rounds (4 minutes)

Do NOT underestimate the simplicity: the wet pool left on the floor is your sweat

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
