How did you do it?

Recommended Posts

Dr. Aceves requires 10 days of clears, 10 days of full, 10 days of mushy/puree, THEN solids. I am wrapping up day 8 on clears and I don't know how you didi it. I really need some tips or something. I found myself staring at hot chocolate mix tonight wondering if somehow it could be considered a clear?! I feel so empty! How did you guys do it?

It was hard, but I kept reminding myself that the staple line in my new tummy was extremely raw & vulnerable these first few weeks and unless I wanted to risk a leak, I had no choice but to stick with the program. That said, I was so desperate for flavor and texture that I often chewed up something tasty like french fries and spit them out. Disgusting, I know, but I have little willpower & I was desperate!

After 30 days you can eat anything in moderation so just Remember that these next 22 days are just a small blip in comparison with your diet for the rest of your life. :)

I emailed and said I was tolerating clears fine and could I have thin liquids on day 8. I got the okay and added Protein Shakes, skim milk, Soups, and anything that was the consistency of Water but opaque.

It was weird I had no hunger the first 10 days, had to remind myself to constantly sip sip sip LOL I ate a zillion sugar free popscyles that seemed to help I could bite them. Cathi

I wasn't hungry either, still aren't, but I was sick of popsicles and broth and Gatorade and juice didn't sit too well full-strength. I did loads better with Soup and shakes.

Thanks ladies! It is nice to know I am not the only one. The great thing is that because of my sleeve I am still on clears and haven't deviated. It is proving to me that this was the right decision because I would have caved Day 2 without it.

I'm not necessarily hungry. It is more like an empty or unsatisfied feeling. Kinda like clears just aren't filling enough no matter how much of them I have. I got some Isopure clear this morning in the hopes that adding some Protein will help. I got the apple flavor and mixed it half and half with Water. I added a packet of Apple Pear Archer Farms and so far it is going down pretty well.

It is Day 9 and I can do this for a couple more days. I think I can...I think I can...I think I can!!

Because I was a band to sleeve revision I had to go 15 days on each phase. Talk about I was about to puke at the thought of broth at day 14, lol. It was so so hard but I stuck to it. I did not want to risk messing up anything and having to take another trip back to Mexico. I hate flying so just flying there to have the surgery was enough for me. It gets better, stay strong :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
