BLIS VSG Surgeons

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recommend a surgeon who does VSG who offers BLIS insurance? Thanks! I am a self-pay patient and concerned about complications following surgery.

Also - does anyone have experience with complications insurance after having surgery in another country?

Well I am not sure where you are from. I was looking into self pay as my insurance took forever to approve. Dr. Terracina in Newport News, VA offers Blis insurance for his self -pay patients.

There is a dr in Mooresville NC who offers blis, and either 1 or 2 yrs of followup appointments, all surgery costs included for like 11000-13000 for self pay. his name is Ryan Heider..

I live in Tucson, Arizona. I'm worried about surgical complications - one idea is to go abroad and get the complications insurance that is good at PPO's in the U.S. Sounds kinda crazy, but if I go out of state in the U.S. for the surgery and it is covered by BLIS then I would have to go out of state if I needed care by the same surgeon... any ideas?

I would start by googling the surgeons and hospitals of excellence in your area. I would think one of them is bound to have BLIS.

I just googled "Tucson Arizona bariatric surgeons of excellence" and got a few. Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
