I still feel like this 10 months out. The scale will go up a couple pounds or I will stall for my normal 3 weeks and every single month, without fail, I think. Okay that's it now I'll start gaining back. Just a few days later it starts dropping again and voila somehow I'm down 100 lbs. Amazing how it works!

I pray that one day I will be on here announcing my 100 lb weight loss! Congratulations on your success! Hopefully once we move toward maintenance, we'll acquire confidence as well. :)

I absolutely thought that. I have had such a hard time losing in the past and I thought I would be the ONE it did not work for. I still sometimes think of myself as a slow loser compared to others, and have weathered two stalls in my three months- but somehow I am here three months out and 61 pounds down. The sleeve works as long as you do the work, I promise. For me, that means counting everything, logging everything, keeping to under 40 net carbs, drinking the Water, getting the Protein, exercising, blah blah blah...the usual! ;-P

I have posted this article many times (thanks to Swizzly who posted it first) and it really helps explain the chemistry of stalls and that you are really still losing weight.... hope it helps!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
