I decided I would take a couple sips of a beer. Nope not gonna do that again.lol I gave up soda. Not a problem. I didn't plan on drinking beer either. Just figured a couple sips was no big deal. I was wrong. I feel like I have a gas ball in my chest. ok, note to self... no beer ever again.lol Anyone else get this feeling?

Me!

Everytime I drink ANY alcohol my stomach burns - and eventually I PB. ALSO - I have reflux that night... just from a couple of sips of hubby's beer!!! (((and I LOOOOVE beer - or I used to)

Even though I have this response, I still seem to "test" myself about every 2 or 3 months.

Guess Im thinking Ill eventually "out grow" it. :)

No such luck!

let the beer sit out a bit before you drink. When the fizz is down it may help.

Hedwig, you can try this. BUT - for me, even wine-coolers, wine & margarita's cause stomach troubles.

Good luck - I really do hope Julie's idea works for you!

Paula its a good thing Margaritas don't bother me... The girls I work with have a girls night out occasionally and boy going to our usuall Mexican resteraunt wouldn't be as much fun with out the Margarits!!:) I find I don't get that brain freeze feeling if I drink them on the rocks.:)

Wow - Jamie - 100 pounds! CONGRATS!

I would think when a body has made that many changes it is much easier for it to accept alcohol.

I was a diet rootbeeraholic, and haven't missed it. But have a hard time drinking 64 ounces of Water. But it's only been 3 weeks, I have time.

I miss the occasional beer...however...now don't curl up your nose until you try it....I can drink tequilla and amaretto...together on the rocks! Yep its GOOD! But be careful it doesn't take much! You can sip it for a long time.

Luckily a glass of wine doesn't seem to do me any harm.

(Margaritas seem to do well too and don't even dare ask about my "adding Protein Powder to the Margarita habit", LOL) but I can no longer drink on an empty stomach. Even a light snack or some cocktail nuts seem to help a bit - but if I haven't eaten, then I'm no more good. That's why it's important to have a designated driver! )

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
