I got home just a few hours ago and took a nap. I am feeling OK...just a little uneasy. Can't really complain about much...just an uneasy feeling...don't know what to do with myself. Having a little trouble getting my fluids down....just really don't want anything. I don't want to get dehydrated though either. I'll up date you all more later. I think I'm going to take my uneasy back to bed! :):P

Been thinking about you Carmen! Congrats on getting thru your surgery. Take everything in sloooow mo for the next few days! Sip, rest, walk:) Your uneasiness is common as you have a whole new lifestyle to adapt to and an itty bitty tummy that just needs some TLC. You're going to great! So happy you're on the other side and will look forward to your update...hang in there, hon :)

Glad you are home and ok. I too am not getting all the liquid down that I should. I don't think I am getting dehydrated but well it all just doesn't seem to fit yet. Jello seems to go down pretty easy though.

Hey all! I'm doing well. I just finished up a world wind week. I had a test, quiz, lots of reading and a paper due all while trying to heal and stay awake for it all. I have the next 5+ days of no classwork....I'm not gonna know what to do with myself. I'm so happy and feel so light! I think I might float away.

Anyway, I had my 1 week check up today. I am down almost 15 lbs or 17. You know the whole clothes no clothes thing. I am feeling good. My incisions are good. I moved on to blenderized foods today and am very very happy to have real food even if it is mushy and blended. I hope I can spend some of my free time over the next few days catching up on all you wonderful people :) I hope all is well with everyone. :) Carmen

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
