I am 4 months out from my surgery and have lost 108lbs (yes great) but....I started having kidney stones the end of May, even had to have one surgerically removed. During the time with the stones I had severe diahrea and lots of vomiting, but now it won't stop! The vomitting is not food, its just saliva and burps but the diahrea is all day and night and gives me a terrible pain in my intestines. I don't have health insurance so running to the doctor isn't an option. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this, the vomiting really has me worried! I am following my diet the only thing I struggle getting in is the protien, I just can't eat very much at all! I was also on very high doses of pain killers for a long time for me and was wondering if it could have something to do with that or a type of withdrawls, because the only time I can get any of it to stop is if I take pain killers. Please anyone who can give me some insight would be greatly appriciated!

I'm sorry your having this problem, I'm sure there is a county hospital around where you are and they can't deny you any services for your inability to pay. . so get yourself over to the doctor at the county hospital. . if you could get the surgery, honey you can get thyself to the hospital. good luck and that is my insight and advice.

OMGoodness I had kidney stones once before - the pain was unbearable and I couldn't stop vomiting; they had to give me medicine to control the vomiting. I cannot imagine what you are going through. I would definitely use public assistance and go see a dr or go to hsp. It cannot be good for your healing process to keep vomiting - could be dangerous.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
